Pool Party!

On May 20th, Asher turned 7 years old. I can't believe he is 7! I look at Josie now and can't remember Asher that way. I only remember him as this fun loving cuddly elementary school kid and that makes me sad. They really do grow up in the blink of an eye. Despite my emotions, we still enjoyed celebrating with Asher. For the first time ever, Asher woke up before us and came running into our room "Today is my birthday!". Now that he understands calendars, he has been counting down the days. He wanted to have a pool party since swimming has become such a big part of his life, so we made it happen at the local YMCA.

Blowing out the candles. Yes, there is a reason you can't see the candles-we forgot them! The kids got a kick out of pretending though. Asher really wanted these ice cream cone cupcakes. They were a hit and easy to serve and clean up!

Asher did such a great job of reading all the cards and saying "thank you" during present time.

We only had the pool for an hour so we filled the time with some games like "pool party BINGO"-another hit.

Anna has followed in Asher's footsteps and become quite the swimmer. She is also on the swim team now. During Asher's party, she passed the diving board/deep end swim test and was doing perfect cannonballs off the diving board.

Asher does the most beautiful dives. He doesn't even make a splash when he enters the water.

It was a GREAT party! Now Asher is lost in the land of new toys...specifically legos. His obsession for them has been renewed and he received some wonderful sets for his birthday. The only problem is protecting them from Jesse bear. Asher has legos stashed in hiding spots all over the house! Thank you for all the cards and well wishes for Asher's 7th birthday.

Maestro Asher

Asher has been taking piano lessons for 9 months now and just performed in his 1st piano recital. He was so excited to show us what he could do and perform in front of an audience. We are so proud of him! He was so flushed with pride at the end when he took his bow-it was adorable!

Asher received a trophy for completing his beginning piano book.
He practically ran up on stage to get it.
