Introducing Josie Ruth Thorson

Josie Ruth Thorson
Born Jan. 21st at 8:49am

It was another emotional experience going into a c-section for the 4th time. We were very blessed with a great team of doctors, one that even prayed with us before the surgery. The recovery stage is going slowly and is always frustrating, but all worth it to add this beautiful ray of sunshine to our lives.

Josie weighed in a 7 pounds, 7.4 ozs

My favorite picture taken shortly after her birth

Josie meeting her brothers and sisters. They are constantly wanting to hold her and have been in love from the minute they saw her. They came to the hospital showering her with gifts and can't stop showering her with hugs and kisses.

Jesse was a little slow in getting it. It wasn't really until his 3rd trip to the hospital that he really acknowledged that there was a baby. Now every morning he says to me "I hold Josies?" He loves touching her face, toes, and fingers. He is a little jealous that he can't crawl in my lap with her and I do think he may have a hard time adjusting, but he is doing great so far with the big change.

Proud Daddy hasn't stopped glowing. He is smitten.

Enjoying some awake time.

All ready to go home. It sure is different bring home a January baby on the east coast compared to bringing Jesse home in Hawaii. We are constantly trying to keep her bundled up and miss the onsie and diaper only weather! Her 1st week home, she has been faced with a brother with flu symptoms, 2 siblings with monster coughs, and 2 siblings with ear infections. We just pray that she stays healthy through it all!

Hope you enjoy the pictures. More to come soon. We are so very blessed.

The Tooth Fairy is Coming!

After 3 weeks of tugging and wiggling, Asher FINALLY lost his 1st tooth! He is so excited to get his 1st visit from the tooth fairy. He even had an in depth conversation with me about how all fairies are make believe except for the tooth fairy. Anna now demands to lose a tooth NOW! We are just glad it happened tonight so we can aid the tooth fairy before we leave for the hospital. That's right folks, tomorrow is the big day when we get to welcome our new baby girl into the world! It is has been a long week. Asher got another ear infection, Anna got her cast off, Asher is home from school throwing up, and we are getting dumped on in a snow storm. It is great to end the week on 2 positive notes. YEY ASHER!!!

37 weeks, 4 days.

C-section is scheduled for Jan. 21st. How can 12 days seem like forever and ever away?! Anna and Asher are so excited. Asher made a paper chain that he has been using to count down the days. He does such a good job at taking care of me, always concerned about whether or not I am feeling well or if I need help with something. He loves hugging my belly and feeling the baby move. Anna is in baby heaven. We find baby dolls in every piece of baby equipment we have pulled out. She has even swiped a few outfits that I find her babies dressed in. She tells me that she will take care of her baby sister, even feed her at night, and she will come get me if she needs help. Jesse knows something is coming as he says "baby's?" when he points to the car seat or crib but of course doesn't quite understand where this baby is coming from and that she will usurp him as the baby of the family. I am just trying to take one day at a time...pregnancy insomnia is killing me and I have become super lazy dealing with the back pain and swelling. We just can't wait to meet this little one!
