Bumble bees, Ballerinas, and Babies

We are officially done with school and into the summer now. Asher finished school with the production of "The Ladybug Ball" in which he starred as the bumblebee. He was the hero who saved the ladybug from the spider. He stole the show with his arm flexing and stellar dance moves. Unfortunately I have been unable to download the videos so you will just have to trust my unbiased opinion :).

We now have been spending lots of time with friends at sprinkler parks and playgrounds. Josie passes the time away with her buddies in the shade, smiling and gurgling at each other. It is quite adorable.

Josie truly is the best baby in the world-super laid back and smiley! She is pure joy.

Anna finished her year off with the long awaited ballet recital. We loved her 2 minutes on stage but sitting through a 3 hour ballet recital with 4 kids was pure torture! She was beautiful and made it worth it. She loves being in the spotlight.

Anna asked for a flower she could plant and water instead of the traditional vase bouquet. A girl after my own heart!

Anna Ballerina.

Now we are packing up for our 3 week trip. We are driving to Wiscousin to spend time with family including Caleb and Amanda visiting from Australia (yeay-it has been 2 years since we last saw them!). Then I fly out of WI to HAWAII for 10 days with Josie! Joel will be joining me for the 4th of July weekend. We are beside ourselves with excitement to see friends, relax in one of our favorite places, go sailing, and celebrate 10 years together! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Thorson for keeping the troops! So if you don't see me here for a few weeks, know that some great pictures and stories will be here soon!

Summer Begins

I feel like we went from the cold of winter to rainy and dreary for too many weeks to count, to the summer heat and humidity of 95 degrees. Where was that nice spring weather to transition in? I really miss those trade winds of Hawaii blowing over us as we play in the backyard. So with 2 weeks of school left, and the heat rising, summer seems to be in full swing. And we kicked if off with memorial day weekend at my parents house in WV.

Josie got her 1st taste of rice cereal. She is loving it and gobbles it down. Hhhmmm, maybe this will aid in me getting a full night's sleep?

Jesse feeding the fish in Poppy's pond...his favorite activity.

Poppy took Asher fishing. I think Asher caught more mud and dirt then he did catfish, but he had a blast. This is becoming his favorite thing to do when he visits WV.

The kids enjoyed plenty of outside time which included popsicles, bugs, exploring the woods, and sunburns. In this picture you can see Anna's buddy on her shirt. This butterfly wouldn't leave her-she loved it!

Sprinkler fun. This aided in Asher's sunburn. I didn't think they would need sunscreen for 1 or 2 hours in the backyard but apparently I was wrong.

Josie's 1st run with me in the stroller. Jesse still loves to go with me as well. I think we need to do this more often, don't you?!

Asher and Poppy too hot for their t-shirts!
